Wilson Wedding 6/20/15

Written by Gregg Wood.wedding

This past weekend I had the pleasure of DJing the Wilson wedding in Downingtown, PA. The event was held at the beautiful family estate of Brey and Roger Stone. Hearthstone Estate was built in 1651 and is being fully restored by the couple. After you drive over a small bridge and pass a magnificent waterfall that cascades from the property’s pond you arrive at the vintage barn where the wedding was held.

Brey and Becca did a wonderful job preparing for Olivia and Keenan’s big day. The barn was transformed into a beautiful rustic venue with lights, pillows, flowers, and linens that brought the space to life. The barn housed the appetizers, DJ set up, a photo booth area complete with props, and some seating. Just outside the barn the dining area was set up on a lush area of lawn centered around a small dance floor. It was truly done impeccably.

Just seeing Keenan and Olivia together was quite the sight. It was a pleasure to provide the music for a couple so in love. After the bridal party made use of the amazing scenery at Hearthstone Estate for their photography, a delicious dinner was served. I can not forget to mention that the brides sister Alex gave one of the most heartfelt and genuine Maid of Honor speeches I have heard in my career as a wedding DJ. It was a moving tribute to her sister, and the entire room could feel her words. Although the humidity was high, the couple and their guests were sure to make use of the dance floor when the party was ready to get started. I was happy to play such an eclectic mix of music for the unique group of guests and everyone seemed to enjoy the entertainment.
As the sun went down the grounds glowed under a plethora of twinkling lights and lanterns. As a few raindrops began to fall, the guests sent the couple off by lining the exit waving sparklers. Thankfully the rain held out all day until the very end. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and only a few drops gave the the happy couple just the right amount of luck.

Congratulations Keenan and Olivia. It was my honor to be part of your special day. I give you well wishes for many years together.

Hoch Wedding 6/6/15

bridal party

This wedding was an unforgettable experience for us! Where do I even begin! For starters this was a “back yard wedding” but nothing about that phrase explains how big their “back yard” is! The Hoch wedding took place on their 11 acre land in beautiful Burlington NJ.

As I greeted the cowboy groom, he was anxious to see his bride! What I was anxious for, was to see the bride come trotting along on a big horse towards the ceremony area! It was something I have never seen before, and it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen at a ceremony! So not only was it a cowboy themed wedding, but the officiant even had a cowboy hat on! The reception was filled with girls wearing dresses and cowboy boots!

Did I mention that I love horsehorses and that its been years since I’ve been around any? Or that I got a couple horse selfies throughout the day!! I know these lovable creatures loved all the attention, or just maybe we all enjoyed giving them some!

As the reception went on throughout the day, I was a little worried that we wouldn’t have as big as a crowd on the dance floor as normal because of the heat, but that was no stopping this group! DJ Skitlz was on her A game and had the crowd going all day into the night.  To be honest this crowd got a little rowdy as the night went on, but nothing that Emcee Harry and DJ Skitlz couldnt handle! One of my favorite moments of the day was showing the grooms nephew how to do “The Wobble”  And I must say for a little kid, he was pretty on point about it!

All and all it was a remarkable day, and we had a great time. The food was amazing compliments of Smokin Dudes. We also met Lauren from L Michelle Photography and not only was she on point with everything, but the pictures I’ve seen turned out amazing! I will definitely recommend her to our future clients!

This is the second Hoch wedding that In The Mix Event Group has been a part of! We did the grooms brother’s wedding last year, and happy to announce that we’re doing the grooms sisters wedding next year! Looking forward to getting to party with this fun family all over again! Thanks again to Jessie and Sara for having us be part of their special day! I hope we helped make it everything you ever wanted! See you at the next Hoch wedding!

Garner Wedding 5/30/15

jac wedding 2

This wedding was my first outdoor wedding of the season, and Im pretty sure it may have been the HOTTEST day of 2015 so far! With that being said, it still turned out to be an amazing day! When Jacqueline first came to me about DJing her wedding, I was so honored! I’ve known this women since she was about 7 years old! Her older brother Bobby has been one of my best friends since grade school and the whole family knew In The Mix could throw a party!

The venue was at a beautiful lakeside in Telford Pa. The ceremony was such a picture perfect scene. And to top it off,  JacqMcfadden Weddingueline’s father Frank not only walked her down the aisle, but he also married the couple as well! I could tell he was a little nervous, but I’ve seen alot of ceremonies over the years and I think he did a great job!

DJ Skitlz had the guest going throughout the day, and the crowd were requesting alot of sing along songs like “Livin on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi and “Hey Baby” by DJ Otzi. She kept fading the music in and out to hear everyone scream the lyrics. It was a fun sight to see! Also watching the couples young son Charlie busting his moves on the dance floor was pretty awesome as well.

One of my favorite moments of the day was watching the brides little sister Kelli sing  “Makin Plans” by Miranda Lambert that was dedicated to the couple and also to her mother whose no longer with us. They also had a memorial placed next to the head table that was made by one of the bridesmaids. I’ve seensome cool memorials at weddings for family members who are no longer with us, but nothing quite like this. The fact that I personally knew this women for 20+ years, it definitely brought a tear to my eye seeing this!

Thanks again to the new Mr. and Mrs. Garner for having In The Mix Event Group be part of your special day! Special thanks also goes out to the Brides cousin Annie who helped coordinate everything through out the day and to Say Creative for the great photos!

Sevick Wedding 5/29/15

Written by Harry McCloskey

This was another wedding that stood out for us! It all started back in 2009 when ITMEG DJed the Sofronski wedding, which lead us to book the Warnick Wedding in 2013, which also led us to book the Bahr(7/18/15) and Sevick weddings in 2015!

Sevick WeddingSo just like I posted in a blog last week, I’ll say it again, it’s the greatest honor in the world to be part of another group of couples that have all used In The Mix Event Group! Driving to these weddings always get me pumped up, when I know that there’s going be at least 4 couples there I know and know how to party!

This wedding was at the beautiful Philadelphia Ballroom in Northeast Philadelphia. As we started getting set up, we noticed that David Bellen Photography was going to be our partners for the night! We have done multiple weddings together in the past and its always a treat to work with true professionals! I first met David a couple years back at a personal friends wedding! We have some of his work hanging around our office!

So the party officially started as soon as  the introductions begin and two of the groomsman came out completely dressed as a fireman and football players uniform while “Its Raining Men” by the Weather Girls came on! It was a sight to see! The bridal party was pretty rowdy coming out and knew once again we were in for a good time!

As the dance floor officially opened, it was a packed from the first song! Guests of all ages were out there strutting their stuff and I would have to say my favorite moment of the night was when “Cant Touch This” by MC Hammer came on. There was a huge circle on the dance floor and everyone was taking their turn to jump in the middle and show off their dance moves! But it wasn’t until I seen the groom’s mom dancing around like it was her favorite song in the world and ended her dance with a full blown split right in the middle of the dance floor! My jaw hit the floor! It was by far the highlight of my night!

All and all the wedding was a success and I can’t wait to get crazy with a lot of the same people in a couple weeks at The Bahr wedding in July! Melissa and LJ thanks so much for putting your faith in ITMEG, we hope you had an unforgettable night like we did!
